The course is outlined as follows: “Anxiety is fast becoming an epidemic in our society. Children are struggling to cope in this digital, constant entertainment, on demand, everybody is a winner world. In a one hour talk about children’s anxiety, you will come to understand why this modern society is contributing to our children’s anxiety levels. But more importantly, hear how we can help steer our children away from serious mental health issues by being able to control this anxiety.

Carina McEvoy: Author, therapist & former teacher Carina is on a mission to help kids & teens unleash their own inner power! She believes that involving the parents/guardians in this process is just as important, as they are such an important factor to helping their little ones unleash this amazing resilience. Carina provides valuable guidance to help Individuals manage their emotions, thoughts and unwanted behaviours. She believes that we all have the power within us to master anything! One of the greatest qualities Carina possesses is empathy, as she knows exactly how anxiety and unhealthy emotions can take hold! Fortunately however, she also knows to break that hold and take control back!”

Third Class are making Maths easy!

3rd class have been working hard practising their multiplication and division facts. The class worked together to figure out all the different ways that division questions could be asked and then put them into a PowerPoint. They hope this will help them and maybe other classes when working our division sums from now on. Well done Third Class! 🙂

Author Workshop for World Book Day

We were very lucky here in Marshalstown to receive a visit from the well known Wexford author, Caroline Busher, as part of our activities to celebrate World Book Day. Caroline has published two books, The Ghosts of Magnificent Children and The Girl who ate the Stars. Every class in the school were treated to a writing and reading workshop where they learned her top tips for creating their own stories. A certain boy in Third Class was also delighted with the visit as he is Caroline’s own son!
We would like to thank Caroline for taking time out to visit us and for helping to inspire the children to write their own books.

Here you can see the Junior and Senior Infants having a wonderful time in their workshop. 🙂
