Here’s a snapshot of some of the fun the children had on Pancake Tuesday! The pancakes were delicious, especially since they were made with local eggs that were donated on the day. Thanks to everyone who helped out on Pancake Tuesday.

More fantastic Lego creations by Harry.
Amazing work especially as these pieces are recommended for 16+ and 18+
Keep it up Harry and well done!

Junior Infants have been super busy this month learning all about the theme of ‘People who help us’. We really enjoyed working on this theme and we learned lots of new information.
During Aistear we worked in both the ‘Hospital’ and ‘The Garda Station’. We had great fun in the role play area and we really had to use our team work skills.
During Art we designed ambulances and we also painted pictures of what we would like to be when we grow up. We hope you like our wonderful work.

Sunday 19th of February 2023 was my first International Tae Kwon Do competition. I got a bronze medal for sparring, in my age group. The competition was on for 6 hours altogether and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to the next competition.

Big thank you to Ms. M O’ Neill and Ms. C O’Neill for making all whole school pancakes.
5th class really enjoyed the delicious treat for pancake Tuesday!

5th and 6th class took part in a 5 week STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) programme. They really enjoyed the lessons and experiments.
They learned all about the environment and atmosphere and the damage we are causing all around the world.
We learned about practical solutions to help save our planet and improve the effects of climate change.

We have very busy in 2nd Class since we returned to school after the holidays. We have been trying to stick to our new year’s resolutions and since Food Dudes week we have been trying to bring lots of fruit and veg for lunch, we even painted some fruit bowls to inspire us.
We made St. Brigid’s Crosses to mark St. Brigid’s Day and we also watched a webinar on the day with Caroline Busher which we really enjoyed.
We have been preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and we recently had our enrolment mass which we were so excited about, it was lovely to see everyone together at mass.
Some of us made bird feeders at home and we are patiently waiting the competition results but more importantly we can’t wait to feed the birds.
We hope everyone has a lovely St. Valentine’s Day!

In the first of the STEAM Workshops the focus was on the planet we live on and the air we breathe. We learned about the Ozone Layer and made simple models to represent that layer of gases that surround Earth. … Continue reading
Sixth class took part in the second STEAM workshop. They were learning about CO2 and where it comes from, the effects it has on our planet and all living things, and how we can help the reduce the levels of CO2. The children completed an experiment making CO2 and capturing it. They enjoyed the results of the balloon filling with CO2.
On Tuesday 7th February we took part in the third of our STEAM workshops. Today we talked about the Effect of Climate Change on Nature.
We talked about what Nature supplies to us as humans, eg food, cleans our air (removes carbon dioxide and produces oxygen), pollinates plants, clean water etc. And we watched some videos that showed how nature and wildlife are being affected by climate change and the ways in which we are impacting on those changes.
We made some models of different habitats that we have here on Earth, and chatted about ways that they are suffering from Climate Change and came up with a list of ways we can change our behaviours to help protect these areas.
Here are some of us working on our habitat models and the models themselves.
We also wrote up summaries of what we learned in the workshop.
