WOW!

Tomorrow we are launching our very first WOW day! WOW stands for Walk On Wednesday and it is part of our efforts to make more environmentally friendly ways of travelling to school. We are trying to encourage as many people as possible to Park N’ Stride when dropping children to school. This involves parking in the church car park and walking up to school. Well done to everyone who has already started to do this-we are delighted! 🙂

Our launch day tomorrow will take place at 8.50am when teachers, parents and students will gather in the church car park and walk up to school.

Any family who parks at the church will walk up to the school with their child/children as Park N’ Stride is designed to be a family activity.

Teachers will not be supervising the children.

It will start a day of celebrations and travel based activity as each class will take part in experiments and discussions with An Taisce’s travel officer Edwina.

We are also launching our Sli walking tracks with the Irish Heart Foundation who have mapped a series of walking routes around our school grounds of varying lengths. These routes can be seen on the map outside the Senior Infant classroom.

We are looking forward to tomorrow and are hoping as many families as possible will support us on the day. See you all tomorrow at 8.50am in the church grounds! 🙂

Golden Boot Winners!

Congratulations to Senior Infants who were the first winners of our Golden Boot award!
This award is part of our efforts to attain our fourth Green Flag for Travel. This flag focuses on raising awareness of how the ways we travel to school can affect the environment and how to help our world by making small changes to how we travel every day.
Well done Senior Infants!
