Spring Cleaning in Marshalstown

Yesterday the children, teachers and parents took part in a clean-up of the school grounds and village of Marshalstown.

The children from 1st Class to 6th Class were responsible for cleaning along by the hedges, footpaths, church grounds, shop and community centre while the Infant Classes did a great job of tidying the school grounds. All the children were very enthusiastic about the project and several bags of rubbish were collected.

Many thanks to the parents who also took part on the day.  We really appreciate the time and effort you gave to make our Spring Clean a success. It was a great community effort! 🙂

Junior Infants had a farm…e i e i o!

The 5th and  6th Class children recently constructed some farm buildings for the Junior Infants to use during Aistear and other playtimes. As you can see, they paid great attention to detail when constructing these buildings. They even made a tractor to drive on the farm as well as some logs for the fire. Many thanks to Miss McCarthy’s 5th and 6th Class for all their hard work.

World Book Day…Read all about it!

To celebrate World Book Day on the 6th of March we invited Caroline Busher, author and poet (and mammy of Caoimhe-3rd Class and Fiachra-4th Class), to our school.

Mrs. Busher visited each class and read her stories and poems. We then discussed and drew pictures of her ideas.

We had a lovely time and celebrated reading and writing in a special way.
