January in 3rd Class

We have been very busy in 3rd Class since we returned to school after the holidays. We created some winter penguins, designed Picasso inspired portraits and made a lovely keepsake for Grandparents’ Day. We have been learning about different forms of communication and how they have changed over time. We had great fun testing out our string telephones. During January we worked on report writing and we researched and wrote about different animals. We hope you enjoy some samples of our work below.

Mini Golf Course

In second class, we have been learning about push and pull forces, gravity and friction in science this month. For art, the boys and girls had the challenge of constructing a mini golf course. Each pod created their own golf course with obstacles. Later, they will add materials to create friction too. Take a look at their progress so far.

Antarctic Explorers

Junior and Senior Infants have been super busy learning about Antarctica and Emperor Penguins. We are reading the story ‘The Penguin who wanted to find out’. We are really enjoying the story and so we decided to make some penguins during Art. We hope you like our wonderful Art. We worked really hard on our Art and we are very proud of all of our hard work. Well done Junior and Senior Infants.
