Pancake Tuesday

The smell of pancakes wafted around Marshalstown NS today from 9.20am until 3pm, as Miss O’ Neill cooked pancakes for every child (and teacher) in the school. That’s over 180 pancakes! Thanks to Miss O’ Neill for cooking such lovely pancakes and a special thanks goes to the children of 4th, 5th and 6th who helped with the washing up. It really was a team effort!

Green Schools Water Forum

The senior members of the Green Schools committee recently took part in a forum on Water as part of our efforts towards attaining our third green flag. It took place in the Riverside Hotel with eight other primary schools also in attendance.

A student from each school introduced their school to the other teachers and children in attendance and Seán did a great job on behalf of Marshalstown NS. Kyle, Chloe and Caoimhe also took on the speaker role to great success at various stages throughout the day as we engaged in a number of discussions and activities.

We brainstormed some ideas on the perfect water school and were also inspired by the ideas of everyone around us. It was a great opportunity to listen to those who have already achieved their Water Flag as well as those who are at the same part of the process as we are.

A great day was had by all and we are looking forward to sharing everything we learned with the rest of the committee and the school.
