Mission Statement
The overall aim of the school is to develop each child’s potential within a caring, happy learning environment and with the wholehearted support of parents.
Our school is serving the people of the Parish of Marshalstown as well as families from other surrounding areas. The school has a commitment to maintaining its Catholic ethos and integrity while at the same time facilitating and welcoming diversity and inclusivity.
Board of Management
Our school is managed by the chairperson and members of the Board of Management in accordance with the Department of Education and Skills (D.E.S.) rules. The Board is made up of two Parents, two Teachers, two Patron’s nominees and two members from the Community.
School Day and Healthy Eating
The school day for Infants is from 9.10 a.m. to 1.40 p.m. and for all other classes it is from 9.10 a.m. to 2.40 p.m. Children are supervised by class teachers in their classrooms in the mornings from 8.50 a.m. to 9am Absences of over 20 days, for whatever reason, must be reported to Túsla (previously National Educational Welfare Board) Parents should explain absences via Aladdin.
The School has a healthy eating policy. We encourage sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, milk, etc. Crisps, sweets, chocolate, fizzy drinks are allowed only for a special occasion(Christmas party) but chewing gum & energy drinks are never allowed in our school. Due to some children having nut allergies, nuts are also not allowed for safety reasons.
