So long and farewell to Sixth Class!

Wishing our wonderful Sixth Class students all the very best for their future endeavours as they leave us to go to their secondary schools. You will all be greatly missed by everyone at Marshalstown NS and we have very fond memories of your time here. It has been a pleasure to teach you. Don’t forget to visit us in the future! 🙂

Here comes the Summer!

There was great excitement in Marshalstown NS as Mr. Mac came to wish us all a wonderful summer holidays and give us some delicious ice cream at the same time!

Sports Day

Everyone had a great time at Sports Day on 22nd June. The children had great fun all day doing lots of different activities such as races, garden games, water relay, throwing games, parachute games, soccer, unihockey and an obstacle course. We also had a tea party on the day. Usually parents attend the tea party but unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions we could not invite parents in for Sports Day this year. Instead, 5th class served 6th class at the tea party and then 6th class served members of the school staff. A great day was had by all! Take a look at some of the action shots from the day below!

Art Exhibition

5th and 6th class have been very busy in recent weeks preparing their pieces for the annual Art Exhibition. Their creations were on display on Sports Day and everyone really enjoyed looking at their fantastic work! It was great to see such creativity! Well done 5th and 6th class on all your hard work.

Farm Safe Schools

Over the past few months, pupils from Junior & Senior Infants, First, Fourth and Fifth Class took part in the Farm Safe Schools Module.

The Farm Safe Schools programme engages, educates and empowers Irish children to become farm safety ambassadors and in doing so help create a safer, brighter future on Irish farms.

It was an interactive educational programme where the pupils were educated about the potential dangers associated with farming and agriculture.

The classes covered three topics. The modules focused on the main farm hazards most pertinent to children including farmer and field safety, animal safety and machinery safety.

We are delighted to announce that after all our hard work we received the status of ‘Farm Safe Star School’.
