Travelling Through Time in 4th Class!

4th class have been learning all about the history of the postal service in Ireland. They worked in groups to complete a timeline of the important events. The used a variety of envelopes in different shapes and sizes to complete their timelines.
All of the groups were so creative at using the envelopes to represent the different events and they all worked so hard!
We hope you enjoy our work 😀

All Ireland Winners

Fantastic News ….. We had two sets of All Ireland Winners this weekend

Soccer

‘On Saturday we were playing in an All Ireland Final. We got a free in the first few minutes and 5 minutes later we got a corner and scored. We went 2 nil up and about 10 minutes later Galway got a goal. It was a tight match all game but we got a goal in the last few minutes to finish off and win.’

Well done girls on a super achievement – Mia Whelan, Ella Roban Casey and Amy Donnelly

Gymnastics

‘On Sunday I went to a gymnastics competition in Dublin called the National Series. I did Acrobatics. Acrobatics is where two people throw one person up in the air and they do flips. I did two routines and came first place out of all of Ireland. I also won a trophy for the highest execution score. It was a fun day.’

Fantastic – well done Eimear Kehoe

April & May in Senior Infants and First Class

We have had a very busy time in Senior Infants and First Class in recent weeks. We have been exploring the theme of the Garden Centre in Aistear. We have sowed our own cress seeds and are waiting patiently for them to grow. We hope that the cress will look like hair on top of a head once it is fully grown!

We created our own textured flower pictures in Art and they really brighten up the classroom!

We also learned about the well known Wexford artist Eoin O’ Connor and we really enjoyed creating our own version of his famous cow paintings!

We hope you like our Artwork…we are very proud of it! 🙂

We explored houses and homes across the world and worked in pairs to construct a house for the Three Little Pigs. The most important thing for these houses was that they had to pass the huff and puff test!! Everyone had great fun working together and problem solving along the way.

Well done everyone! 🙂

Minibeasts

Junior Infants are learning all about minibeasts and their habitats for the month of May. We hope you like our ladybirds. We worked really hard on them.
