Review of the Child Safeguarding Statement Sept 2019
Dear Parent / Guardian,
Please see attached for your information the Review of the Child Safeguarding Statement.
Worry Dolls
3rd class have been discussing how it feels when we are worried or anxious about something. To help with their own worries they made some worry dolls in art. Firstly, they learned the story behind the dolls and then they made their masterpieces. They gave their dolls a name and a personality to match.
They worked really hard. Take a look at the pictures.
Worry dolls (also called trouble dolls; in Spanish, Muñeca quitapena) are small, hand-made dolls that originate from Guatemala. According to legend, Guatemalan children tell their worries to the Worry Dolls, placing them under their pillow when they go to bed at night.

School closes tomorrow at 12.10pm for the Easter holidays. We will reopen on Monday 29th April.
Happy Easter everyone! 🙂
Our annual Christmas Celebration will take place on Tuesday 18th December.
There will be two performances: one daytime show at 12 o’ clock and a night time show at 7pm.
The children and staff are very much looking forward to performing for our friends and families. 🙂

The 5th & 6th Class pupils have just completed their Cycle Right Training, an invaluable learning programme to give kids all the tips and tools for cycling safely on the road. Thanks to the guys from Cycle Right Training for all their help.
Happy Halloween from everyone at Marshalstown NS.

Look how spooky the Junior Infants were today. Can you recognise them? 🙂

Wishing you all wonderful, happy, safe and sunny Summer holidays and looking forward to seeing everyone back in school again on Thursday 30th August when we will be opening at the earlier time of 9am.
Congratulations to all of the boys and girls and their teachers who celebrated their latest success in the Green Schools programme this morning. Everyone gathered outside in the glorious sunshine to raise our third green flag which we received for our efforts in conserving water on a daily basis in our school. Two years of hard work went into achieving this flag so well done everyone! 🙂
