Congratulations were in order for the pupils of Marshalstown NS in recent weeks. We discovered that we were overall winners in the Food Waste Prevention Environment Awards held by Wexford County Council.

The children in Third Class (while they were in Second Class), designed a character to promote saving and reducing food waste. Their character was called “Sal” which stands for “Save All Leftovers”.

Our award was collected on behalf of the school by one of the boys in the class and he was accompanied by Miss Butler, who is our Green Schools coordinator this year.
